Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Our Church exists...
Zionsville Christian Church has a history in this community dating back to 1841. We have played an important part of the community through a long tradition of outreach and service.
We are part of a denomination called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with headquarters based in Indianapolis and congregations throughout the United States. Our denomination has its roots among the early pioneers that settled in Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana in the early 1800’s and it remains the oldest American born denomination today. Formally organized in the 1830’s, the Christian Church has a long commitment to theological diversity, social justice, the centrality of the Bible as a guide for life, and the participation of all Christ followers in the leadership of the Church. Some of our historical traditions that remain meaningful today include weekly communion, baptism by immersion and membership through an affirmation of faith in Jesus.
